CIMPOR leads the energy transition with the first 100% electric concrete mixer truck in Portugal
CIMPOR has taken a pioneering step in sustainable construction in Portugal by integrating the first 100% electric concrete mixer truck operating in the country into its fleet. This milestone reinforces the CIMPOR Group’s commitment to innovation, decarbonization, and the modernization of its operations.
The new vehicle eliminates direct CO₂ emissions and other pollutants while ensuring a virtually silent operation — a significant advantage in urban environments. With an autonomy of around 180 km and the capacity to transport up to 8 m³ of concrete, it is already fully operational at the Loures and Frielas units.
This investment reflects the Group’s ongoing commitment to more efficient and sustainable technological solutions, strengthening its role in leading the transformation of the construction sector.

CIMPOR has been distinguished as Marca de Confiança 2026 (Trusted Brand 2026) in the Cement category, in the study promoted by Selecções do Reader’s Digest. The brand was the most frequently mentioned by participants, receiving 76% of the responses.

The study also indicates that 55% of respondents stated they are customers of the brand.
“CIMPOR’s recognition as a Trusted Brand holds special significance, particularly this year as we celebrate the brand’s 50th anniversary. Throughout this journey, we have worked consistently to build and strengthen the trust of Portuguese consumers. This recognition confirms the brand’s journey and our ongoing investment in the quality, innovation and sustainability of our products,” says Cátia Gomes Assis, Interim Director of Marketing and Communications at CIMPOR.
CIMPOR’s recognition in this initiative carries a special significance as it takes place in the year the brand celebrates its 50th anniversary. Throughout this journey, CIMPOR has consistently worked to build and strengthen the trust of Portuguese consumers, and this recognition reflects that journey while confirming the efforts made over the years.
Conducted in Portugal since 2001, the Marca de Confiança study involves the direct participation of Portuguese consumers through a panel representative of the population in terms of gender and age. It currently covers around 70 categories, as well as specific areas such as Professions, Institutions and Personalities.
The study’s methodology is based on an open-ended question, allowing participants to spontaneously indicate the brands they trust most, without predefined lists or options, ensuring greater neutrality and rigor in the results.
This distinction reinforces CIMPOR’s positioning as a reference brand in the construction sector and reflects the company’s journey over decades, marked by continuous investment in product quality, innovation and sustainability, as well as the close relationship it has built with customers, industry professionals and partners.

CIMPOR celebrates 20 years in Cape Verde with institutional campaign and visit of the Prime Minister
CIMPOR celebrated 20 years of presence in Cape Verde, marking two decades of contribution to the country’s development, close engagement with local communities, and the building of strong and lasting relationships.
To mark this milestone, CIMPOR launched an institutional multimedia campaign in Cape Verde, with presence across Television, Radio, Outdoor advertising and Social Media. Under the claim “CIMPOR – 20 years at the heart of Cape Verde”, the campaign reflects the brand’s deep connection to the country, visible in family homes, infrastructure projects and the development of the various islands.
The creative concept is centred on an institutional film that uses an emotional metaphor to portray the relationship of trust built over the past 20 years. The film travels across different islands of Cape Verde, showcasing infrastructure built with CIMPOR materials and reinforcing the idea of a solid partnership and a shared future.
It is within this celebratory context that the visit of the Prime Minister of Cape Verde, Ulisses Correia e Silva, to CIMPOR’s pozzolan cement grinding plant in Santo Antão, on 25 January, took place. The visit highlighted an investment of €6.75 million, which will reactivate and triple the unit’s production capacity, with a positive impact on the local economy and job creation.
The project will increase production capacity from 3 to 9 tonnes per hour, with the start of production of pozzolanic cements 42.5 and 32.5 scheduled for June, following an operational testing phase planned for April.
The celebration of 20 years of activity in Cape Verde reinforces CIMPOR’s positioning as a long-term partner, committed to the country’s sustainable development and to the future of Cape Verdean communities.
